Leica S2

I was just lucky enough to purchase a brand new Leica S2 in preparation of my 2 month globe trekking vacation. After almost a year of research for the best camera to fit my needs, I finally decided on this extremely sweet piece of photographic wonder. Let me provide a few bits of information related to this camera.

If money isn’t a major consideration & you are in need of the best possible 35mm digital SLR, then you will be happy to hear what this camera can do exactly. Make no mistake when I say, there may be no other camera in this price range that can compete. At the time of writing this most people would probably reply the Nikon D5, but this is about to change. Just recently, Leica, which has always been known as the Bentley of 35mm cameras, has launched their latest offering in digital SLRS. The Leica S2.

Unlike other SLR’s, it works wonders in bad lighting shots because this S2 camera has excellent quality lens. You can take pictures at such a fast shutter speed with the help of the ‘automatic exposure’. All you need to do is to configure the f-stop. Then the shutter speed will automatically adjust itself. With this you can take the picture like a pro in half the time as with the D5

Another amazing feature I’ve grown accustomed to is the Photo Recovery & advanced Photo Recovery Software that recovers and restores the lost pictures from SD or SDHC media cards. Of course this is handled by the camera’s memory card. This Picture Recovery application provides an intuitive graphical user-interface. Amazingly, it also supports multiple audio and video file formats. This Photo Recovery application comes for both Windows and Mac operating systems of course.
While the Leica S2 is now the main camera in my quiver, I can safely recommend this to those enthusiasts looking for nothing but sheer perfection and quality.
