Annoying neighbors who let their dogs yap all night.?

We have neighbors who let their dogs bark all night (they won’t bring them in their house since they work nights). We’ve complained on many occasions about the noise; which is causing our oldest daughter to have anxiety issues. Last night the dogs barked from 11 pm until 5 am. So I put a note in the neighbor’s mailbox asking to please keep their dogs quiet because it is rude to let them bark like that. The neighbor confronted me and told me what I did was illegal by putting a note in her mailbox, but she won’t do anything about it, and her dogs are just going to bark whether I like it or not. What can I do to get this to stop? I didn’t move from a loud neighborhood into a nice community just so I could be kept awake all night and for my daughter to end up being afraid of dogs. Need advice.

1. it is not illegal to leave your neighbor a friendly note about her dog
2. call the police and leave a noise disturbance complaint they may not come out that night but after you call multiple times they may go ahead and check on it and your neighbor will get a fine for letting her dogs bark, if she continues to let the dogs bark the police will have animal control come out and confiscate the animals, or you could call animal control and ask them to come take care of the noisy dogs.
3. i would check with the other neighbors and ask them if the dogs bother them as well and see if maybe they will stand by your side in getting something done about the dogs barking all night.
