Ignore Texas Bound, Mary, Queen of Scots was NOT Elizabeth I’s sister – that was Queen Mary I of England.

Mary Queen of Scots was a cousin of Elizabeth, whom in marrying into the Scottish monarchy became queen there. Elizabeth felt that there was a threat there of an attack from Scotland and her ally France. So in order to squash this she had to kill Mary, Queen of Scots.

As for the Armada, She put Lord Howard of Effingham in charge of the fleet and he is as famous for the victory there. look up either him or some of the legends behind Sir Francis Drake (and Drake’s Drum) and you’ll have your answers I think.
