Thin Lizzy Live 78 CD HQ Sound – 2 Songs w. Gary Moore. Perfect songs, cowboy song and The Boys Are Back… I dubbed the CD sound from the GREATEST HITS CD above the picture… et voila, better than the horrible vhs or dvd you can get. I hope we will soon get the full show in perfect quality, I only need the sound, the dubbing is no problem…

@Drewcole314 Well, I can’t say for sure because I don’t live in Australia… but I’d say you are spot on with that date. I KNOW it was late in ‘79 when this was recorded. As I stated above, I believe this was “warm-up” run thru Aussie before heading out on a proper tour. This particular performance is part of a day long festival that featured many bands, Thin Lizzy was just one. The BEST one! lol…
@Obelix5150 I couldn’t agree more! I soooo wish it would have been that way. I’m guessing it was moreso due to Gary having just “re-joined” the band and most likely they didn’t have a “full show” together, as did the band did with Robbo and Scott after years of touring. Just a guess on that one tho’…

I agree with falsepride’s comments. The best talent often goes unrecognized. When I wear my Thin Lizzy t-shirts out, I get people pointing and saying, “yeah – I love those guys…”

Great vid. Wish i could have seen such an awesome band but i was born two years after this show.
I was there that day. It was fantastic, they played Boys are Back twice for the sound check, once during the show and again for the encore. Well Phil kept asking the crowd what we wanted to hear………
@colmhearne Totally awesome vid!! Sorry I missed out on this, never really paid these guys much attention. And watch with the blaspheme. Never take the Led Zepp’s name in vain. Comparing bands is like comparing apples and oranges. Successful bands do whatever they happen to do extremely well. Thin Lizzy proves it in this vid.
