I don’t understand this confusing CD (Certificate of Deposit) stuff! Please help!!?
Bank of America is doing a promotional High Yield CD with a 5.10 % APY and a 4.97% interest rate? What does this mean?? Also, there is an option for a 4 or 8 month term. If I do the 4 month, will my return be half of what the 8 month term is? Thanks for your help!
The APY is the Annual percentage Yield.
As far as the difference between the 4 and 8 months, you won’t get half the return in the 4 month CD. Usually banks will give you a higher rate the longer you let them keep the money. If you do the 4 month CD you will have a slightly lower interest rate than if you chose the 8 month CD.
Hope this helps.
